CV:
Hue Hale is an Irish visual artist based in Berlin, with a background in fine art analogue photography.
His practice primarily focuses on conceptualising the psychological weight of everyday life, exploring the intersections of identity, queerness, and mental health. Frequently using self-portraiture, Hale treats the body as a site for illustrating internal states of mind. This self-reflexive process relies on the camera not just as a documentary tool, but as a method of therapy and catharsis.
Hale’s work has been exhibited and published across Ireland, Europe, and the USA. His project, He Suffers With His Nerves, a raw document of the fragile mental health of a young queer person in Ireland, has been particularly well received.
