Hue Hale is an Irish visual artist with a background in fine art photography.
His work focuses on conceptualising the darkness faced in everyday life, exploring his identity, queerness, and mental health. He frequently utilises self-portraiture and the body to illustrate his state of mind. Hale’s process is self-reflexive using photography as a tool for catharsis, as a method of therapy.
Hale’s work has been exhibited and published throughout Ireland, Europe & the US. His graduate project ‘He Suffers With His Nerves’ which serves as a document of the fragile mental health of a young queer man in Ireland, has been very well-received in particular.
Hale is currently based in Berlin.
